Hydration Challenge Completed!!!

Standard

So at the beginning of this month I decided to start my first step to overall improve my health by basically forcing myself to drink 8 glasses of water every day. If you read my first post about it you could read about all the health benefits and why people really should drink more water.

And I’m proud to say that I succeeded in my goal! I drank 64 oz of water or more EVERY SINGLE DAY. Woooo!! I tracked my water intake with a free app on my phone called “Waterlogged” it was so user friendly and it made it so easy for me to log every water bottle I chugged throughout the day. By the way that means I drank over 2000 oz of water this month!! That like 16 gallons. My goodness that is a lot.

Now how it affected my body:
First off the most obvious thing I noticed was that I literally had to go to the bathroom every 10 minutes it was ridiculous. But my body got used to it and I’m relieved to say that that’s no longer an issue. Also I felt so much better during the day, I wasn’t as hungry and I craved healthier food instead of chips and ice cream all the time. You just feel damn good. My skin got brighter and I spent a lot of my time without makeup because my face actually looked okay! I was amazed.

Now these were things that I noticed, but what was really crazy was how many people told me that I looked healthier and slimmer! Keep in mind, I really didn’t do anything different in my life besides the water, I always eat decently healthy and I don’t work out like at all right now (Yes I know that’s bad I’m working on it). So there’s really no reason for me to lose that much weight but I did. My stomach slimmed down several inches and it’s stayed off!

It’s probably water weight but it’s enough to make a difference!

Even though July is over, I’m gonna keep up with my water intake because now I simply need that much water, anything less and I just feel terrible.

It’s crazy how changing one little thing in your lifestyle can make such a difference!

This is just the start of changing my life, becoming healthier, introducing more positivity, cutting out bad habits and just living in a way that will benefit me and I can be proud of.

To any readers out there that want to do the same, leave me messages and we can be friends bettering life together!

Samoa Cupcakes

Standard

Hello!

It’s been a while since my last post mostly because I’ve been crazy busy and a million things are going on and just ahhh

One of the things I had to do was bake 2 dozen cupcakes for my mom’s office party. And I wanted to do something special. I had an idea to make cupcakes based on my favorite girl scout cookie of all time. Samoas! There’s just something so addicting about those chewy caramel and coconut cookies. I’m going crazy just thinking about it!

So i scoured the internet for the perfect recipe. I would have made my own but I only had one night before i had to make these bad boys so i just followed a recipe i found that was basically exactly what i envisioned to make.

The one I used is from Cooking Classy and the moment i saw the pics on there I knew that this was perfect. Vanilla cupcakes with chocolate ganache and caramel buttercream! Topped with toasted coconut and caramel and chocolate drizzled over it! Oh my goodness its just everything I love.

The only tweak i made to the recipe was that I added an extra egg yolk because I like my cupcakes on the moist side and egg yolks will do that for you!

Here’s the link to the original recipe!

My cupcakes don’t look as good as the picture in the original recipe but hey i never said I was a professional baker! And from what I heard from my mom’s coworkers they were a total hit! So if your food doesn’t look that pretty whatever as long as they taste good!

This is great and easy recipe for anyone looking to wow some guests and pretend like you’re the most recent winner of cupcake wars, you’re just that good.

31 Day Hydration Challenge

Standard

Happy 4th of July to all of my fellow Americans! How are ya’ll celebrating on this lovely day? Here in southern California IT IS HOT. Ugh I’m dying I don’t want to leave my air conditioned house but I must.

Now for the month of July I decided I was going to challenge myself. Drink 64 oz of water EVERY DAY. Now that’s roughly 8 glasses or a little less than 4 water bottles. This is the recommended amount of water that a female my age should be drinking to be hydrated. Now there are a ton of debates on what actually is the correct amount and should you go by weight and blah blah blah. I’m just going with a number that I saw most often when looking it up.

I’m trying to overall better my health and this is the absolute easiest thing anyone could do if they’re looking to be healthy and maybe shed a few pounds.

Drinking a lot of water not only keeps you full and hydrated it also flushes out the sodium in your body. Sodium is what causes bloating and water weight because sodium causes your body to retain water. So yeah it doesn’t make sense to a lot of people but absolutely yes drinking water helps reduce water weight.

July is the perfect month to do this challenge because it’s sooo hot outside. Many people suffer from dehydration during these hot summer months so please drink some water and help your body out.

Also it’s the 4th of July which of course mean drinking cause were American and that’s just expected of us. Most people know this but again alcohol DEHYDRATES YOU!! If you go and party bring a water bottle and sip on it. And drink a glass before going to bed. Your head will thank you in the morning when you don’t have a hangover from dehydration!

Personally, I like the taste of water as it is. It’s just so refreshing! But I know a lot of people don’t. So what you can do is throw a few pieces of fruit or herbs in your water! Strawberries, lemon, oranges, mint, cucumber, rosemary, whatever you want! It’ll give your water flavor and a few added nutrients as well!

So if you want to join me in this hydration challenge it’s not too late ! Leave me comments about tips and updates and what you do to stay hydrated and healthy!

The Start of This Adventure

Standard

Well hi there! If you’re a human and you’re reading this then by some sort of magic you found my brand new blog! And because of that I already love you 🙂

So this is Meish time! And I would be Meisha (its pronounced Mi-sha..just go with it)

I’ve been toying around with the idea of starting a blog for pretty much forever so might as well start it tonight!

Now if you’re wondering what kind of blog this will be I can honestly say I have no freaking idea. I wanna talk about makeup and clothing and fitness and traveling and baking and crafts and books and pretty much everything a person could ever talk about.

So this blog is just gonna be me. And trying to find out who I am because I just turned 20 and I’m still trying to figure out what’s my purpose in life.

If there’s one thing I know for sure, it’s that I love reading and I love writing and its the only way I know how to express myself. So if you want to join me on this adventure I’d be more than happy to have you 🙂
