Happy 4th of July to all of my fellow Americans! How are ya’ll celebrating on this lovely day? Here in southern California IT IS HOT. Ugh I’m dying I don’t want to leave my air conditioned house but I must.
Now for the month of July I decided I was going to challenge myself. Drink 64 oz of water EVERY DAY. Now that’s roughly 8 glasses or a little less than 4 water bottles. This is the recommended amount of water that a female my age should be drinking to be hydrated. Now there are a ton of debates on what actually is the correct amount and should you go by weight and blah blah blah. I’m just going with a number that I saw most often when looking it up.
I’m trying to overall better my health and this is the absolute easiest thing anyone could do if they’re looking to be healthy and maybe shed a few pounds.
Drinking a lot of water not only keeps you full and hydrated it also flushes out the sodium in your body. Sodium is what causes bloating and water weight because sodium causes your body to retain water. So yeah it doesn’t make sense to a lot of people but absolutely yes drinking water helps reduce water weight.
July is the perfect month to do this challenge because it’s sooo hot outside. Many people suffer from dehydration during these hot summer months so please drink some water and help your body out.
Also it’s the 4th of July which of course mean drinking cause were American and that’s just expected of us. Most people know this but again alcohol DEHYDRATES YOU!! If you go and party bring a water bottle and sip on it. And drink a glass before going to bed. Your head will thank you in the morning when you don’t have a hangover from dehydration!
Personally, I like the taste of water as it is. It’s just so refreshing! But I know a lot of people don’t. So what you can do is throw a few pieces of fruit or herbs in your water! Strawberries, lemon, oranges, mint, cucumber, rosemary, whatever you want! It’ll give your water flavor and a few added nutrients as well!
So if you want to join me in this hydration challenge it’s not too late ! Leave me comments about tips and updates and what you do to stay hydrated and healthy!
